One School, One Book

We are very excited to announce Holmes School’s participation in the One School, One Book program. “One School, One Book is a program designed to create a shared reading experience within a single elementary school community.” The Holmes School Improvement Team has chosen a book that will be revealed in January. Be on the lookout for our One School, One Book kickoff event!

Early People Passport

The Early People Passport individual projects are due Monday, December 6th. Please make sure to take a look at the rubric that was sent home today (Monday, November 29th).

Thanksgiving Break

There will be no school on Wednesday, November 24th through Friday, November 26th for Thanksgiving break. School will continue on Monday, November, 29th. Have a wonderful and relaxing break everyone!

Business Project

The Business Project will wrap up next week on Tuesday, November 23rd. We will have the Fourth Grade Entrepreneur Day in the Multi-Purpose Room. Students should have all of their products finished and ready to sell for hawk bucks by Tuesday. Have fun!

Cheesecake Field Trip!

The fourth grade will be going to Eli's Cheesecake Factory for our Business Unit. We will tour the factory and learn about businesses. The trip will be Wednesday, November 17th.

Turkey Trot

Tomorrow, Wednesday, November 10th, is the Turkey Trot. Fourth grade will be running from 1:00 to 1:30.

No School on Friday

There will be no school on Friday, November 5th. We will be observing Veterans Day.

Fall Celebration

The Fall Celebration will be on Friday, October 29th. The parade will begin at 1:40 and the classrooms party will be held after that.

Half Days

This is just a reminder that this Thursday, 10/21 and Friday, 10/22 will be half days for conferences. School will be dismissed at 11:00 on both days.

No School on Monday

There will be no school on Monday, October 11th, for Columbus Day.

Picture Day

Picture Day is Monday, September 20th. 4G will have their pictures taken at 12:40.

Conferences

Fall conference sign-up sheets were sent home today. Please make sure to put your top three choices on the sheet and return as soon as possible. The conferences fill up fast so be sure to return your sheet early.

MAP Testing

The reading section of the MAP testing will be this Tuesday, 9/14 from 12:40-1:40. The math section will be held next Tuesday, 9/21, from 12:40-1:40.

Labor Day

There will be no school Monday, September 6th. Have a great weekend!

Parent Forms

If you have any parent forms that have not been turned in yet, please return those as soon as possible.

Curriculum Night

Curriculum Night will be this Thursday, September 2nd. It will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The Fourth Grade team has put together a cool presentation using Smart Board. We are excited to see you there!
